Eucalyptus cuprea, commonly known as the mallee box, is a eucalypt that is native to Western Australia.[1]

The tree typically grows to a height of 2.5 to 5 metres (8 to 16 ft) and has rough box-style bark. It blooms between August and November and produces white flowers.[1]

E. cuprea belongs in Eucalyptus subgenus Symphyomyrtus section Adnataria (also known as the boxes). Within the Adnataria section, E. cuprea is part of a subgroup, series Buxeales which are all found in south-eastern Australia, with only three occurring in Western Australia, those being Eucalyptus cuprea , Eucalyptus absita and Eucalyptus lucasii. All three have inflexed stamens which separates them from the eastern species.[2]
