Ethiopian Electric Power (Amharic: ኢትዮጵያ ኤሌክትሪክ ኃይል) is the state-owned electricity producer in the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. It is engaged in development, investment, construction, operation, and management of power plants and power generation. Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation is the sole electricity provider in Ethiopia and supplies approximately 100% of the country's electricity.
History
The company was formed in 1948 as the Ethiopian Electric Light and Power Authority.[1] In 2013 the Ethiopian Electric Power was formed by Council of Ministers Regulation No.302/2013.[2]
