Estúpido Cupido (Stupid Cupid) is a Chilean telenovela produced by TVN. It is a remake of Estúpido Cupido (1976), a nationally acclaimed Brazilian telenovela written by Mário Prata. Adapted by Jorge Marchant Lazcano with Víctor Carrasco and Hugo Morales. Directed by Vicente Sabatini.

Plot

Making a difference with the drama scripts to date, this soap opera does not have an only leading couple. The dramatic weight fell into two stories. The first was the love triangle including Monica Tagle (Carolina Fadic), Anibal Donoso (Álvaro Rudolphy) and Isabel Margarita Dublé (Claudia Burr), the spoiled daughter of the mayor, who falls in love with the character of Alvaro Rudolphy, inventing all kinds of schemes to have him beside her.

The other story starred Jaime Salvatierra (Francisco Reyes), the local radio announcer and Sister Angélica (Claudia Di Girolamo), an extrovert revolutionary nun who scandalized the town. The feelings that surfaced between them caused controversy in the Church authorities in Chile and were the subject of debate during the time the soap opera aired, because of the possibility that she left the habit and start a relationship with the radio announcer.
