Eisingen is a municipality in the district of Enz in Baden-Württemberg in Germany. It is situated on the Bertha Benz Memorial Route and contains no other villages.

Coat of arms

Eisingen's coat of arms since 1985.

Eisingen's coat of arms depicts a yellow plowshare above a silver-bladed billhook on a red field, commemorating the town's history of viticulture. These two symbols came to represent Eisingen when the Margraves of Baden, who purchased the village in 1495, authorized a coat of arms featuring the plowshare and billhook in 1497. These two items would adorn numerous municipal seals until, in 1902, they were made official symbols of Eisingen on the suggestion of Baden's General State Archive. The current coat of arms, in the colors of Baden, was created and authorized for use on 15 January 1985.[2]

Politics

In the Baden-Württemberg local elections of 2014, Eisingen had a voter turnout of 47.2% (compared to 50.6% in 2009) that bough the Eisingen Free Voter's Association eight seats with 55.15% of the vote and the CDU six seats with the remainder.[3] The mayor, Roland Bauer since December 2013, is entitled to a vote on the municipal council.[4]
