ETV Network is a network of satellite television channels in India, news and entertainment channels. It is based in New Delhi. In the FY 2014-2015 some of the channels was acquired by Reliance Industries owned TV18[1][2]

History

The Hyderabad daily newspaper Eenadu (Telugu for 'today') started its own channel named Eenadu TV on 27 August 1995[3] The network later added regional channels in other Indian languages and built a large local news network. Ramoji Group divested its TV asset to TV18 in 2013.

In March 2015 Viacom 18 decided to rebrand five ETV regional general entertainment channels (Previously owned by Prism TV). They are ETV Marathi, ETV Gujarati, ETV Kannada, ETV Bangla and ETV Odia will be rebranded into Colors Marathi, Colors Gujarati, Colors Kannada, Colors Bangla and Colors Odia.[4]

In April 2016 ETV network added three more regional news channels catering to the audience of Kerala, Tamil Nadu Assam and North East under the brand name of News 18. The channels are named News 18 Kerala, News 18 Tamil Nadu, News 18 Assam NE.The flagship company ETPL launched four new television channels in November 2014 - namely ETV life - a health and wellness channel, ETV Abhiruchi, a cookery channel, ETV plus - an entertainment and reality channel, ETV cinema - a movie channel all four in Telugu language.

In March 2018, ETV News Network was rebranded as News18 network.
