Donie Buckley is a retired Irish Gaelic footballer and current coach. He played Gaelic football with his local club Castleisland Desmonds but never with Kerry intercounty team.

Buckley scored a last-minute goal in The All Ireland Club Final in 1985 to help Castleisland Desmonds win The All Ireland Club Final.

Soon after retiring from playing he became involved in coaching. His coaching career began in Clare where he led Milltown Malbay in 1990 and Faughs in 1994 to County Championships. He then served as joint manager of the Clare senior team in 2006.

He then moved on to Galway club Moycullen, whom he led to an All-Ireland Intermediate Club Football Championship title in 2008.

He then served as selector with Mickey Ned O'Sullivan in Limerick for five years prior to joining the Kerry senior setup in 2011. He stepped down from his role with Kerry before the start of the 2012 Championship.

Donie Buckley has enjoyed noted success in a number of roles in the Mayo Gaa setup. He is widely considered to having been a linch pin in both the James Horan and Stephen Rochford led management teams. Leadership to date (2018) that led Mayo to over half a decade of qualification for either All Ireland finals or semi finals, yet winning the championship has alluded them as of yet.
