The Director of Intelligence Bureau (DIB) is the chief executive of the Intelligence Bureau, India's premier internal-intelligence agency.[1] Having a four-star rank, the DIB is the senior-most India Police Service officer. The current director of Intelligence Bureau is Rajiv Jain, a 1980 batch IPS officer, who has served since 1 January 2017.
Authority
Director IB (DIB) is a member of the Strategic Policy Group and the Joint Intelligence Committee (JIC), but intelligence inputs go through the regular channels in the Ministry of Home Affairs to the JIC.
