Peopletoys (also known as Devil Times Five and The Horrible House on the Hill, as well as Tantrums in the United Kingdom) is a 1974 American horror film directed by Sean MacGregor and David Sheldon (uncredited), and starring Sorrell Booke, Gene Evans, Shelley Morrison and Leif Garrett. The film follows a group of sociopathic, homicidal children who survive a car accident in the mountains, and seek refuge in a rural village where a group of vacationers are staying.
Plot
Five children crawl from the wreckage of a fatal van accident in a snowy canyon while the vehicle is on its way to the nearby mental institution for criminally insane youngsters. The juvenile survivors while shaken up, are not badly injured and proceed to seek shelter at a secluded mountain-top winter home occupied by a rich businessman (Evans) and his friends (Booke and Morrison) after being taken in by them. However unbeknownst to anyone, the kids are hiding a truly dark secret. Not to mention have something genuinely twisted in store for the adults there. What follows is an insidious game of cat and mouse with bizarre mishaps soon occuring as well as the group being subsequently stranded without electricity and the use of their telephones to call for help. One by one, the people at the cabin begin to fall prey to a series of rather shocking and violent deaths with no way out. By the time the few surviving adults suspect the demented delinquents are responsible for the gruesome murders, it may be too late for those that are still breathing. What transpires is utterly disturbing in every respect and every sense of the word! Once you encounter the callous Devil Times Five, there is no escape from becoming Peopletoys at their merciless hands!
