Darlo Fans Radio is an online local radio station operated by fans of and in conjunction with Darlington F.C. to provide commentary of Darlington's games, both home and away

History

Up until 2012, Darlington games were covered in part by BBC Radio Tees. However Darlington were put into Administration in January 2012 by Chairman Raj Singh. At the end of the season, Darlington finished in a relegation position and were relegated from the Football Conference, because the incoming 1883 rescue group could not secure a C.V.A. or get the football share, which entitled Darlington to play football, from former Chairman Raj Singh, The Football Association decreed that Darlington F.C. was dissolved and further relegated the club, now known as Darlington 1883, a further 3 Divisions to the 9th Tier Northern League.

Launch

In 2012, Darlington 1883 started life in the Northern League groundsharing at Heritage Park, home of Bishop Auckland F.C.. Because of there low position in the National League System, radio coverage of the club had all but stopped.

In 2013, Darlington fan Andrew Simpson saw a gap and came up with the idea of Darlo Fans Radio to provide commentary for the exiled Darlo fans and ex-pat Darlo fans around the world.

Since starting in 2013 Andrew has been joined by Michael Cansfield, Michael Price and Stuart Armstrong in presenting commentary home and away.
