Aksyon Radyo is a radio network that focuses its news/talk and some drama formats on provincial AM stations in key cities using regional languages and dialects. The first Aksyon Radyo was the converted DYRC-AM in Cebu city which was renamed DYXR-AM Aksyon Radyo Cebu

The origins of Aksyon Radyo can be traced to the original DYRC, first known as KZRC in 1929 by the Radio Corporation of the Philippines, then was sold to Isaac Beck. In 1940, the Heacock Company bought KZRC.

After World War II, the Elizalde family bought all Heacock stations and signals the birth of Manila Broadcasting Company. KZRC became DYRC after Philippine independence. KZRC AM is the pioneering AM station for the Visayas and Mindanao areas. It is an affiliate of MBC flagship AM station in Manila, DZRH; and spins off the "new" DYRC/Radio Cebu together with all local AM stations in the provincial areas under MBC into "Aksyon Radyo" provincial AM stations.

Aksyon Radyo serves as originating regional radio network of the Manila Broadcasting Company, as its flagship DZRH operates through relay stations in the provinces. In turn, Aksyon Radyo is not available in Metro Manila as it serves as primary audience for DZRH.

The current head of Aksyon Radyo AM Network Operations and Programs is Ed Montilla. He is assisted by the AM Programs and Research Manager Juan Elias Yandug.

Yes The Best started on December 18, 1995 as the show business gossip and music station, 101.1 Showbiz Tsismis. At that time, its callsign was DWST, which stood for "Showbiz Tsismis" (Showbiz Gossip). It had a mix of show business news and the latest music hits, and even employed reporters with a reporting style similar to that of local AM stations.

On December 6, 1998, 101.1 was re-launched as Yes FM 101.1 with a different call sign (DWYS). Its format was hot adult contemporary same as its sister station 90.7 Love Radio and became the undisputed number 1 FM station in 1999 to 2002. Its slogan from 2002 to 2008 was Derecho! & YESterday Pa!. In 2008, it was again repackaged and became automated and adopts the slogan Automatic 'Yan!, before it would later changed its slogan to Hayahay! (adapted from Love Radio Davao) from 2012 to 2016.

On July 1, 2009, Yes FM stations in Baguio, Cebu, Iloilo, Bacolod and Davao were all rebranded into Easy Rock. Recently on February 24, 2014, Hot FM stations in Cebu, Zamboanga, Cauayan and Dagupan, and Easy Rock station in General Santos were all rebranded into Yes FM.

On July 18, 2016, Yes FM 101.1 Manila was rebranded as 101.1 Yes The Best Manila, while its Yes FM provincial stations were later rebranded as Yes The Best on May 1, 2017 for The New Face of YES!.

Nationwide programming

Unlike the Love Radio Network, Yes The Best currently does not simulcast select weekday programming from Manila itself to its provincial stations. Most of its programming uses a unique programming name, notably Yes The Best: Top 20 and Request on the Fly; some of these unique program names are broadcast to all Yes The Best stations nationwide, however it is hosted by different DJ's from each originating station, and may air on different timeslots and may have different elements depending on the station. Thursday programming are branded as Throwback Thursday and the genre and the music format may depend on the station. Weekend programming consists of automated music (a masa-stapled playlist similar to its old predecessor) and the national-syndicated Saturday program Catch 22 Pilipinas, which is also simulcasted on Love Radio and Easy Rock stations; the automated music on weekends may depend on the discretion of each station.

Previously when it was still Yes FM, it aired Yes Diaries with Chico Loco (now with 106.7 Energy FM) from Monday to Thursday and Gabi Na, Gising Na with Papa Jack from Love Radio and Chico Loco on Fridays nationwide (with the latter airing on Love Radio) until 2015, when Chico Loco resigned. It also aired TLC: The Drama Special on a national basis with Love Radio until 2016, when it was later broadcast on a local basis for Yes The Best until Love Radio discontinued the program in mid-2018; its sister program from the latter station, Pag-Ibig Feels, still airs on select Yes The Best stations.
