Nogometno društvo Primorje, commonly referred to as ND Primorje, is a Slovenian football club which plays in the town of Ajdovščina. The club was established in 2011.[2][1] They are currently playing in the Slovenian Third League under the name Primorje.

History

The club was founded in 2011 as Nogometno društvo Ajdovščina[2] after the dissolvement of NK Primorje, a club which folded couple of months earlier due to a high financial debt, and after failing to obtain competition licences issued by the Football Association of Slovenia.[3] Legally, the two clubs' track records and honours are kept separate by the Football Association of Slovenia.[1] They merged their first team with ŠD Škou before the beginning of the 2012–13 season.[4] The team gained a promotion to the third level after finishing as the runners-up in the 2012–13 Littoral League.[5][6]

In 2016, the club was renamed to ND Primorje.[2]

Stadium

The team play their home matches at Ajdovščina City Stadium, a 1,705 capacity stadium in Ajdovščina. The stadium was renovated during the 2009–10 season, and was reopened in September 2010.[7]
