Christopher O'Shea (born October 1, 1992) is an English actor best known for his debut role in the 2016 feature film Patriots Day and his role as Jareth Glover on the television series Madam Secretary.

Life and career

Christopher O'Shea was born on October 1, 1992, in Kent, England.[1] He resides in Pratts Bottom, London, England, when he is not working.[2] O'Shea is probably single, but works hard at keeping his private life, especially his relationship status, from the media. O'Shea has a dog named Horby. He is also a fan of horse riding, for which he shares images on his Instagram account. In 2009, O'Shea appeared in the short film, Dead Hungry, which was his first acting job. In 2014, he got a part in the feature film Baby Daddy, which was his first movie role. Also in 2014, he was cast in the TV drama, Madam Secretary, where he started to gain some public attention.[1]

In 2016, he was announced as a member of the cast for the Boston Marathon bombing film Patriots Day.[3][4] Also in 2016, he was cast in the film Alaska is a Drag alongside Matt Dallas and Maya Washington.[1]

In Madam Secretary, O'Shea was cast as Jareth Glover, Stevie's fiance from England. He gave up a fellowship at Oxford to return to America to be with Stevie after she had trouble adjusting to life in England. His family is a member of the upper class and even nobility in England. Stevie and Jareth broke up in season 4.

O'Shea was an extra in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.[5]

In 2018, O'Shea won a supporting role in upcoming new production titled A Modern Persuasion. This Indie film is a modern adaption of Jane Austen's book.[6]
