Child Support is an American game show series, hosted by Fred Savage and starring Ricky Gervais. It premiered on January 5, 2018 on ABC.[1] In its early development stage, the show was originally called Five to Survive[2][3] in 2016. On March 13, 2018, ABC renewed the series for a second season.

Gameplay

A contestant in the studio will be asked an open-ended question by Savage. If their response is correct, the contestant's possible winnings will become the value of that question. In the event the contestant is wrong, their position in the game is at risk. Five youngsters are asked the same question by Gervais and if any of them give the correct response, the contestant is saved and will be able to continue playing. Being saved in this manner will cause the top prize of the game and subsequent prize amounts to be moved to the next lower amount. If the contestant is wrong on the final question, their total possible winnings will become the last correct answer's value. However, if no correct response from the kids is given, the contestant's game is over and they leave with nothing. Season 2 has a modified rule, instead of leaving with nothing, like in Season 1, the contestant will receive $500 per correct answer from the kids, as a consolation prize. After playing the 4th and 8th question, the contestant is given the opportunity to walk away from the game with their winnings up to that point.
