Axelrod's rainbowfish (Chilatherina axelrodi) is a species of fish in the Melanotaeniidae family. It is found in Indonesia and Papua New Guinea. Distribution: Chilatherina axelrodi are found in the Yungkiri stream in the north western part of Papua New Guinea. Typically its preferred habitat is a narrow stream with gentle moving, cloudy water surrounded by lush rainforest.
