The Leader was a British daily newspaper, published in Chester, in Cheshire, England.
History and operations
It was launched in 1973 as The Chester Evening Leader, and was Chester's first daily newspaper.
It initially began as the Wrexham Evening Leader, which also later spawned the Flint and North Wales Coast editions. The newspaper was renamed to The Leader in 2009.
The paper was owned by NWN Media, which was bought by Newsquest in 2017. On 29 December 2017, the newspaper was closed.[1]
