Chatham Islands Note Corporation
The Chatham Islands Note Corporation was the private organisation that was set up to issue the two series of unofficial Chatham Islands banknotes in 2000 and 2001. It planned to issue coins in 2001, but their activities were curtailed upon the instruction of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand. The Chatham Islands Note Corporation ceased to operate some time in 2003 however is still an active company on the registry of New Zealand companies website.
