The West Australian butterflyfish (Chaetodon assarius) is a species of butterflyfish native to the west coast of Australia, ranging from Perth north to Shark Bay. It can be found on coastal reefs at depths of 1 to 40 metres (3.3 to 131.2 ft). This species reaches a maximum length of 13 centimetres (5.1 in) TL.[1]
