Carphania fluviatillis is a species of tardigrades. It is the only species of Carphania being the only genus of the Carphaniidae,[1] being the only family of the order Echiniscoidea.
The species is endemic to Italy. The family, genus and species were named by Maria Grazia Binda, the genus and species were named in 1978 while the genus alongside Reinhardt Møbjerg Kristensen were described in 1986. The species is endemic in Italy.[2]
Etymology
The specific name is the Latin name fluviatillis where it is primarily founded by streams.
