Candice Ann Warner (née Falzon) is a retired Australian professional ironwoman, surf life saver and model.

Ironwoman

Warner first competed professionally at the age of 14 in the Ironman series.[1] At 16 she was a NSW state ironwoman champion.[2] In January 2008 Warner qualified for a spot in the 2008 Nutri-Grain Ironman & Ironwoman Series.[3]

TV work

Warner appeared on the 2008 series of It Takes Two,[4] supporting the Beyond Blue charity but was eliminated sixth on 1 April 2008. Her mentor was Anthony Callea.

She was the subject of the Australian Story program on 9 June 2008.[5]

In 2017, Warner appeared as a celebrity contestant on the Australian version of Hell's Kitchen.[6][7]

She came in tenth place, being the first one eliminated.

Personal life

Warner was born in Sydney, in the suburb of Cronulla. Warner is of Maltese heritage.[8] She is the wife of Australian cricketer David Warner.[9] They married in April 2015.[9] They had their first child (a daughter) on 11 September 2014[10] and a second daughter on 14 January 2016.[11] They live in Sydney.

Controversy

On March 4, 2018, during tea in the 1st Test between Australia and South Africa in Durban, Warner’s husband was involved in a heated exchange with South African Wicket-Keeper Quinton de Kock regarding vulgar comments about her.[12] David Warner fired back at De Kock and was forcibly restrained by teammates Usman Khawaja and Steve Smith.[13][14][15]

In March 2018 Warner’s husband was suspected of involvement in a ball tampering scandal during the 3rd Test match between South Africa and Australia along with skipper Steve Smith and Cameron Bancroft; several former and current international cricketers have accused the Australian cricket team of cheating.[16][17] Warner exchanged a war of words with former English cricket captain, Michael Vaughan over Twitter regarding comments posted by him about David Warner's complaint about personal abuse from the South African crowd during the second day of the test match after his dismissal, and Warner's attitude to the ball tampering controversy.[18][19][20][21]
