Calgary Cardinals FMBA

The Calgary Cardinals is a men's baseball team that plays in the Foothills Major Baseball Association. The team originated in 1965, and they are the only remaining team from the time the FMBA played their games out of Optimist Park in Calgary, AB. In the late 1970s the FMBA moved to Deerfoot Park in NE Calgary, AB, where the Cardinals still play out of today.

During the early 1990s the team briefly split into two teams: a Senior and Junior with the Senior team consisting of primarily older players. The former briefly left the FMBA to play in the Alberta Senior League, but returned to the league capturing the FMBA league title in 2003, defeating the Calgary Longhorns in the final two games to one.

The Cardinals converted from a senior men's team to a younger roster, mainly ex-college players from around Calgary.
