C'est Magnifique
"C'est Magnifique" ("It's Magnificent") is a 1953 popular song written by Cole Porter for his 1953 musical Can-Can, where it was introduced by Lilo and Peter Cookson.[1] The song become a standard, despite weak performance in the 1953 charts.The only version to chart was by Gordon MacRae which reached No. 29 for one week.[2]
Film
- Frank Sinatra sings it in the film Can-Can in 1960.
Television
- In the Season 5 episode of the television series M*A*S*H, "Movie Tonight" (air date Feb. 22, 1977), the staff are watching My Darling Clementine (1946) in the Mess Tent. Major Margaret Houlihan (Loretta Swit) sings a rendition of the song during one of the many times the film breaks down.
