School Houses

There are four houses in the BSB to which children are allocated at admission. These houses help foster school spirit and the sense of belonging to a vertical grouping throughout the school from KG to Year 13.

The houses are represented by colours and mythical creatures which are:

  • Dragon – Blue
  • Griffin – Red
  • Pegasus – Yellow
  • Phoenix – Green

Students

On average, there are over 70 nationalities represented each year at BSB. 32% of the student body are at the Infant level, 34% are at the Junior level, and 34% are at the Senior level. The average class size is 20 students, with the student/teacher ratio being 14:1.

Facilities

The buildings of the new campus include specialist facilities like science labs, music and art rooms and a drama studio. There are excellent sports facilities including a floodlit astro-turf football pitch, tennis courts and two indoor pools. The school also has a large cafeteria.

Alumni

James Arthur, the 2012 winner of the ninth series of the British musical competition The X Factor was a student at the school for four years.
