Brandon Quantavius Richardson (born September 23, 1984)[1] is an American actor. He has played roles in Regular Show, The Heat, Meet the Browns, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Magic Mike XXL,[2][3] Horrible Bosses 2[4][5] and Jurassic World.[6][7][8] He is known for 2011 VH1 reality television Tough Love starring Steven Ward.

In 2012, Richardson appeared in a Gatorade commercial entitled, "Nightmare" along with NBA stars Kevin Durant and Dwyane Wade.[9]

Brandon Quantavius Richardson was born in Miami Beach, Florida on September 23, 1984.[1] His mother, Bernice Belinda Richardson (née Green), retired from U.S. Army as First Sergeant First Class, now a real estate agent. His biological father, Kenneth Smith, a physician assistant and step father William Green, a doctor. Richardson has half-siblings, Jarrett, Brianna, Gabby and Bryant. He is of African American and Filipino descent.[10]

High school and college

He went to Klein Collins High School, where he ran track and field for two years.[11] After high school, Richardson went into a special military programs for teenages, in Galveston, Texas. Five months later, completing the Seaborne Challenge Corps, he attended University of Miami, studied in business management.

Military service

He served in the United States Army as a sergeant, during which time he has received numerous awards among them an Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism, Army Service Ribbon and Operation Iraqi Freedom medal in 2006, 2007.[12][13]

Personal life

In 2010, Richardson co-founded the record label BMajor Music Group, under Atlantic Records with his older brother Bryant McKinnie.[14]

Richardson and his longtime friend Talia Gates reportedly began dating in 2014. On August 10, 2014, Richardson announced via that he and Gates were expecting their first child. On April 25, 2015, Richardson tweeted the birth of their son Princeton Cartier Gates-Richardson.[15]
