Books for Kids

Books For Kids a is philanthropy organization created by the Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity. under the leadership of Ken Hoover. Created in 1994, Books For Kids is a charitable project created by the Sigma Tau Gamma Foundation as a project that would tie the fraternity back to its educational heritage.

After two successful years, the board of directors of Sigma Tau Gamma decided that due to the tremendous success of the Books For Kids project, they would make it the National Philanthropy of Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity.

To date, Books For Kids has donated over 28,000 books and $30,000.00 to the public libraries and school districts of the region selected to host Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity's annual National Convention.

The community-service program is an initiative of undergraduate and alumni chapters of Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity. They collect new books for youngsters to be distributed at the National Conclave, Grand Chapter and fraternity get-together activities. Fraternity chapters frequently give their support for local and elementary school libraries. Sigma Tau Gamma collaborated with Emporia State University for this philanthropy project[1]..
