Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharya or Bikash Bhattacharya (Bengali বিকাশ রঞ্জন ভট্টাচার্য্য) is an Indian politician. He served as mayor of Kolkata 2005-2010, heading the Kolkata municipal corporation, in the state of West Bengal.

Short biography

Bikash Bhattacharya hails from the Kalighat region of Kolkata.[1] He joined the Communist Party of India (Marxist) as a student. He is a lawyer by profession. He took over the reins of Kolkata from the outgoing Mayor Subroto Mukherjee of Trinamool Congress party. He was appointed Advocate General, Tripura for 5 years.Being a senior advocate he leads various remarkable case like sarada, Narada sting operation etc.Now a day he became MAIN face as anti Tmc government case by his elequoance and oratory .
