Benchasiri Park[1][2][3] (Thai: สวนเบญจสิริ; RTGS: Suan Benchasiri; "Park Commemorating the Fifth Cycle Birthday Anniversary") is a garden on Sukhumvit Road, Khlong Toei District, Bangkok, Thailand.

Built on 11.6 acres (47,000 m2) next door to the Emporium shopping complex, it commemorates the fifth cycle (sixtieth) birthday anniversary of Queen Sirikit on 12 August 1992.[4] Construction began in 1990 on land which originally housed the Bangkok Meteorological Department until its relocation to Bang Na.[5][6] Built around an ornamental lake, it contains 12 pieces of contemporary sculpture by Thai artists and is often used for open-air events.[7]

It can be reached from Phrom Phong Station (Sukhumvit Line of the BTS Skytrain),[8] and is located between Soi 22 and 24.

Interesting Area

Sport area

This is large area for people who want to go jogging and it has outdoor court to support whether it is volleyball court, basketball court and skate rink[1]. There is shade surrounding this area by trees and grasses.

Swimming pool

Swimming pool (12.5 x 25 meter) [1] is a facility that people around this area needed and this pool came from the survey results of park users who want to bring their children to use. [1]

Playground

Playground in this park can attract many children both Thai and foreigners [1], observing from number of children that come on holiday. This area has a lot of plaything [1] for children who love adventure, discover and climbing. [1]

Activities

Dhamma ni suan

Another activity in this park that Invites Buddhist to make merit and listen to sermon every Sunday from 07.00 – 09.00 am [1]. Anyone who is not comfortable to go to the temple can come to this park instead.

Dontri ni suan

Dontri ni suan is one of interesting activities in this park that supposed to relax from work and stress. On Saturday and Sunday, you can enjoy with many songs in Thai and international music[1].
