Barzanji Kurds
Barzanji, known in Kurdish as Berzincî and Berzencî (بهرزهنجی), is a Kurdish tribe inhabiting near Sulaimaniyah in Iraqi Kurdistan.
A notable personality from this family was Sheikh Mahmud Barzanji who founded a short-lived Kingdom of Kurdistan.
Barzanjis should not be confused with Barzanis who reside further northwest around Erbil.
