Balanbale or Balanbal (various spelling) is a district bordering Ethiopia located in the western part of the Galguduud Provence in the central Galmudug state of Somalia. Balanbale town is the district’s capital.

Demographics
Since the start of the civil war in Somalia, Balanbale's population has roughly doubled. Most households make their living from livestock raised nearby countryside, Balanbale is largely inhabited by the Marehan sub-clan of the Darod.
