The Azimabad Express is a Superfast train running between two capital city of Gujarat in Ahmedabad and Bihar in Patna. "Azimabad" was old name of patna city during later Mughal period.

It operates as train number 12947 from Ahmedabad Junction to Patna Junction and as train number 12948 in the reverse direction serving the states of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh & Bihar. The 12947/48 Azimabad Express runs from Ahmedabad Junction via Vadodara Junction, Ratlam Junction, Sawai Madhopur Junction, Agra Fort, Kanpur Central, Allahabad Junction, Mughalsarai Junction to Patna Junction.[2]

Traction

As the route is fully electrified, a Vadodara Junction based WAP-4E pulls the train to its destination.
