Aubre Maynard

Dr. Aubre de Lambert Maynard (1901–1999) was an American physician.

Born in Guyana, Maynard graduated from New York University School of Medicine and interned at Harlem Hospital, eventually specializing in thoracic surgery.[1] He later served as the hospital's Chief of Surgery, and was credited with helping to save the life of Martin Luther King Jr. when the latter was stabbed while signing books at an area department store in 1958.[2]
