These are the official results of the men's shot put event at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain. There were a total number of 27 participating athletes. The event took place on 31 July 1992.[1]

Gold medalist Mike Stulce had returned from a 1990 two-year doping ban just in time to win the gold medal at the Barcelona Olympics. He subsequently failed another doping test at the 1993 World Outdoor Championships and received a life ban. Silver medallist Jim Doehring, who had a guilty finding to a previous doping case overturned on a legal technicality, later tested positive for a banned steroids. Bronze medallist Vyacheslav Lykho had been stripped of his bronze medal won at the 1990 European Championships in Split due to a doping offence.[2] Despite this, they result from the Barcelona is officially accepted, because there is no known positive result from this games, and according to "innocent until caught at that moment" rule they can keep his medal.
