The men's 400 metres hurdles was a track and field athletics event held as part of the Athletics at the 1904 Summer Olympics programme. It was the second time the event was held. 4 athletes, all from the United States, participated. The competition was held on August 31, 1904.[1]

Harry Hillman ran 53.0, but this was rejected as a record as he knocked over a hurdle, and the hurdles were only 30 inches (76 cm) high.
