Ashikita (芦北町 Ashikita-machi) is a town located in Ashikita District, Kumamoto, Japan.
On January 1, 2005 the town of Tanoura was merged into Ashikita.
As of October 2016, the town has an estimated population of 17,332 and a density of 74 persons per km². The total area is 233.48 km².
There is a beach at Ashikita, as well as a marine park, where one can ride a roller luge or try zorbing.
