The Arkansas–Oklahoma Railroad (reporting mark AOK) started operations on March 3, 1996 and operates on 73 miles of track owned by the U.S. state of Oklahoma between Howe and McAlester. The AOK is based in Wilburton.

AOK has leased the 36-mile Shawnee Branch from Union Pacific running from Shawnee, OK to a connection with UP near Oklahoma City, OK. AOK also switches the Midwest City, OK Automobile Logistics Facility.
