Archibald Taylor (28 November 1879 – 14 March 1966) was a Scottish professional football full back, who played in England and Scotland for Dundee, Falkirk, West Ham United, Huddersfield Town and Barnsley.[1]

Career

Taylor captained the Barnsley team who won the FA Cup in 1912,[2] beating West Bromwich Albion in a replay after the first match ended goalless.[3] The Manchester Guardian, when reporting on the first match noted that he kept Albion Winger Jephcott in check.[3] In the replay his play was again praised.[4] Earlier in his career he won the FA Cup with Bolton Wanderers in 1904.[5] After his retirement, he served Dundee as assistant trainer.[6]
