Arambagh KS is a sports club, based in Arambagh, Dhaka, Bangladesh.

History

Arambag Club was established in Dhaka in 1958. It was at first a football club, but later became active in other games like handball, basketball and volleyball. The club has had continued success in different tournaments. It became champion in the 4th and 5th Shital Women's Handball competitions. In 1980, it was champion in the Alpha Cup Football Tournament of Nepal and, in 1995, runner up in the eighth Chief Minister Gold Cup Football Tournament of Sikkim and in the Nagji Gold Cup Tournament of India. In 1997, the club took part in a football tournament at Agartala that marked the golden jubilee of the independence of India. In the same year, it became runner up at home in the Federation Cup Football Tournament. It is currently a team of Bangladesh Championship League. It was also a team of Bangladesh Premier League (football) until its relegation in 2012–13 season.

2017-18 season

On 10 February, 2018 Arambagh Krira Sangha celebrated their first ever local title in the club's history of about 60 years beating defending champions Chittagong Abahani in the final of 2018 Independence Cup by 2-0 margin on at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka.
The champions received taka 500,000 and the runners-up received taka 300,000 as prize money. Besides, Arambagh club management also announced taka 1,000,000 for the entire team. Arambagh defender Arif was named the man of the final and also the man of the tournament. Arambagh striker Jewel was adjudged the top scorer netting three goals.[1]
