The Apostolic Vicariate of Mongo is a Latin Catholic pre-diocesan missionary jurisdiction in Sahel-country Chad.

It is exempt, i.e. directly dependent on the Holy See (notably the missionary Roman Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples), not part of any ecclesiastical province.

Its cathedral episcopal see is the Cathédrale Saint-Ignace, dedicated to Saint Ignatius (also founder and patron saint of the Jesuit Order), in Mongo, Chad, in Guéra.

History

Established on 2001.12.01 as Apostolic Prefecture of Mongo on territory split off from the Metropolitan Archdiocese of N'Djaména and from the Diocese of Sarh.
