Anvil Publishing, Inc., the publishing arm of National Book Store, is an eleven-time Publisher of the Year awardee as cited by the Manila Critics Circle. It aims to popularize books and reading by publishing trade books for different Filipino audiences, and making them available and accessible, highly attractive and engaging, and therefore competitive on store shelves.
Anvil has a nationwide dealer network servicing 565 dealers in 60 cities and municipalities. The dealers include National Book Store (Anvil’s mother company and the largest bookstore chain in the country today with 150 outlets), Goodwill Book Store, Rex Book Store, Solidaridad, Central Book Store, Popular Book Store, Gaisano chain, Fairmart, Landmark, and CID Bookstore. It has a nationwide academic sales force servicing schools and libraries.
To date, Anvil is the biggest and most progressive trade books publisher in the Philippines. It has already put out almost 2,000 titles. One hundred thirty six titles have won National Book Awards from 1990 to 2011.
