American Academy of Forensic Sciences

The American Academy of Forensic Sciences (AAFS) is a society for forensics professionals, founded in 1948. The society is based in Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA.

The AAFS provided consultancy on the development of CSI: The Experience, a traveling exhibition about crime lab forensic science and technology inspired by the television series CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.[1] The society consist of different sections in the branches of Anthropology, Criminalistics, Digital & Multimedia Sciences, General, Engineering Sciences, Jurisprudence, Odontology, Pathology/Biology, Psychiatry & Behavioral Science, Questioned Documents, and Toxicology. The Journal of Forensic Sciences is published by Wiley-Blackwell on the Academy's behalf.
