America Is Still the Place
America is Still the Place (2015; also titled Black Gold: America is Still the Place) is a North American feature film based on the eponymous book by Charlie Walker. The film recounts the racial injustice Walker endured in an effort to clean up Stinson Beach in Marin County, California after the 1971 San Francisco Bay oil spill threatened the beach town and much of the Bay Area's coastline. The movie stars Mike Colter and Dylan Baker, and was written and directed by Patrick Gilles. Former San Francisco mayor Willie Brown makes a cameo.
