Ali Maâloul (born 1 January 1990) Arabic: علي معلول) is a Tunisian professional footballer who plays for Egyptian club Al Ahly and the Tunisia national team as a defender.
Club career
Maâloul in formed and made his debut with CS Sfaxien.
Since 2009, the player has joined the team and has been competing for his place in the starting lineup.
Slowly, Ali Maaloul took on more games, honed his skills more and had clear offensive characteristics. From season to season he took his foot in the starting line-up to become one of the pillars of his team and one of the pillars of the Tunisian national team, especially with his skill to carry fixed balls and register free kicks. Since the 2014–15 season, Ali Maaloul has become the first captain of CS Sfaxien.
In the 2015–16 season, Ali Maaloul became the scorer of the league with 14 goals in the Round 20, a record that has not been matched by any defender in the history of the Tunisian league. No defender has scored more than 9 goals per season One of this league.
As of July 2016, Maâloul joined the Egyptian club Al Ahly SC for a period of four years; the total amount of the transfer was $750,000.
International career
With the National team he started on 6 July 2013 making his international debut against Morocco.,[2] he collected 39 appearances. He played his first African Cup in 2015, he participated also in 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.
In May 2018 he was named in Tunisia's preliminary 29 man squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.[3] He was selected in the final 23.[4]
