Ali Baig (علی بیگ) is a village situated around Upper Jhelum cannal in district Bhimber Azad Kashmir. It is the second largest village of Azad Kashmir with a population of almost five thousand people. Most of the people are educated in the village; village show cultural hub of Punjab province.

Ali Baig is also known as the boundary of Azad Kashmir. Boys And Girls High School are present with no promotion to college since 1947. The Jamiah Masjid of Village is a mega-structure. People in the village grow wheat, maize, barely, pulses, sugarcane and other vegetables.


Alibaig has many private schools. People of Alibaig are friendly and Generous.Their culture related to punjab's culture as well as Kashmiri.Their mother languages are pahari as well as punjabi.

History

The Old name of village is Kittan Ghar (کیتن گھڑ). There was a middle school in Ali Biag called Khalsa Middle School (خالصہ مڈل سکول), and students from Dina, Jhelum, Kotla, Chachiya etc. came to seek knowledge. The most important of this village is "Old Gurdewara of Sikhs". Mostly Arain Families are populated in Ali Baig Village.

Ali baig is known as "Village of Shaheeds" after the first pak army martyred of Kargil war 1999 Sepoy Muhammad Yaqoob. Who devote his life for his country. And the major accident in this village as a result of which 14 children are martyred.

History of Arains

The Arain (Urdu: آرائیں) are a Muslim tribe of Pakistan who are found mainly in the Punjab province and also that of Sindh. They are chiefly associated with farming, with many being "peasant-proprietors" and some being zamindars (landlords).
