Alfred Nathaniel Holden Curzon, 4th Baron Scarsdale
Alfred Nathaniel Curzon, 4th Baron Curzon (12 July 1831 – 23 March 1916) was a British aristocrat, clergyman and landowner. He was the father of George Curzon, 1st Marquess Curzon of Kedleston, the Conservative statesman and Viceroy of India. The family's ancestry dates back to the Norman Conquest.
Son of the Revd the Hon Alfred Curzon and Sophia, née Holden, and grandson of the 2nd Baron Scarsdale, Alfred Curzon was educated at Rugby School and the University of Oxford. He succeeded his uncle to the title in 1856, in which year he married Blanche, née Stenhouse and, having been ordained into the Church of England, became rector of Kedleston, a post he occupied for fifty-six years. The marriage produced four sons, of who George Curzon, born in 1859, was the eldest, and seven daughters, one of whom died in infancy. Blanche Curzon died in 1875.
Alfred Curzon's landholdings amounted to 11,000 acres (about 4,450 hectares). He served in his local community as a Justice of the Peace
