Aler is a City in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district of the Indian state of Telangana. It is located in Aler mandal of Bhongir division.[1]

Geography

Aler is located at 17°39′00″N 79°03′00″E / 17.6500°N 79.0500°E / 17.6500; 79.0500.[2] It has an average elevation of 361 metres (1187 ft).

Sri Jain Mandir at kolanupaka village, near Aler city is a 2000- year old temple

Sri Someshwara templeThis temple is called as koti Lingala Gudi.The temple was built by Kakatiya Kings around 12th century. Here Lord Shiva is found in human form unlike the common Linga form. Poojas are still being performed in this temple.

Since Aler is near to Hyderabad and Warangal. It is well connected by roadways which passes from Hyderabad to Warangal. The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation public transport buses to major destinations from Aler.

Politics

Arutla Kamala Devi was elected 3 times to the state assembly and she is the only women opposition leader till date ( United Andhra Pradesh & Telangana ). Mothkupally Narsimhulu was elected 5 times to the state assembly from this constituency. In 2009 elections, Budida Bixmaiah Goud of the Indian National Congress got elected to the Legislative Assembly. Gongidi Suntiha Mahender Reddy from TRS won the 2014 elections with a margin of 34000 over Budida Bixmaiah Goud of the Indian National Congress. She is currently been appointed as Govt Whip as well.
