Aiyana Abukusumo-Whitney (April 6, 1993 New York) is an American volleyball player.

She plays as an opposite for the United States women's national volleyball team.

Career

Aiyana Whitney's career began at the school level, playing with the Northern Valley Regional High School. She joined the women's volleyball team of Pennsylvania State University for the NCAA Division I in 2011: after missing the next season, she won the a NCAA title twice, and obtained some individual awards, ending her university career in 2015.[1]

In 2016, she played in the Liga de Voleibol Superior Femenino 2016 in Puerto Rico, with the Leonas de Ponce, finishing in third place; participated in the tournament as a local player thanks to the Puerto Rican origins of her family.

In the 2016-17 season, however, she played for the Männerturnverein Stuttgart 1843, of the Bundesliga, with which she won the German Super Cup, being elected MVP of the event, and the German Cup.

In 2017, she made her debut in the US national team.[2] In 2017, she won the 2017 Women's Pan-American Volleyball Cup gold medal, and at the 2017 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Grand Champions Cup.[3]
