La Gesta del Marrano (Against the Inquisition) is an Argentine novel, written by renowned prize-winning Argentinian author Marcos Aguinis.
This novel is developed about Francisco Maldonado da Silva, a physician born in San Miguel de Tucumán, Argentina, that rediscovering his Jewish origin decided to assume fully his Jewishness and stop hiding as a Christian (marrano). Maldonado was imprisoned by the Holy Inquisition, trialed and condemned for heresy.
