Adrian Kennedy (journalist)

Adrian Kennedy is an Irish radio journalist, broadcaster and DJ. He was host and producer of The FM104 Phoneshow; a late night radio chat show - alongside co-host Jeremy Dixon, from 1997-2013. For his 17 years at the helm the FM104 Phoneshow was the highest rated night-time radio show in Ireland.

Kennedy was once described as a "shock jock" by the Irish Independent newspaper, for his controversial on-air persona. He touches on topics ranging from entertainment to social issues such as child sexual abuse, drug addiction, crime, etc.

In August 2013 Kennedy & Dixon were let go from FM104 and took up a job offer with rival station 98FM. Due to a stipulation in their contracts both were placed on 6 months Garden leave after their final show on 25th Sept.2013, which effectively gagged them and prevented them promoting their new show.

Kennedy's new morning talk show Dublin Talks started on 98FM on 10 March 2014 and has since become one of the highest rated shows on the station.

Kennedy is now a weekly columnist with The Herald newspaper in Dublin - and a weekly panellist on RTE1’s Today Show with Maura & Daithi.

Kennedy married his second wife Linda in December 2017. He has two adult children from his first marriage.

In 2006 Kennedy was found to be almost twice the legal drink driving limit and was put off the road in Irish courts. The topic of drink driving was not brought up on the show following the conviction.
