The hospital employs psychiatrists, clinical and occupational psychologists, psychotherapists, counsellors and family, marriage and sex therapists.[1]

Adam Road Medical Centre originated in 1968 in Dr. Wong Yip Chong's two-room private psychiatric practice at Ngee Ann Building. In 1971 it expanded to a bigger clinic located at Specialist Medical Centre on Somerset Road.
It later moved to Adam Road. It later became the Adam Road Medical Centre and moved to King's Arcade building along Bukit Timah Road.
