Achanoor is a village in Tamil Nadu, India, and lies between Thiruvaiyaru and Kallanai (Grand Anaicut). The main economic activity in the village is agriculture, like many other villages in India. It has fertile lands since it is in the Kaveri delta region. Rice, sugarcane, bananas, betel leaf,onions, and coconuts are the village's chief products. The neighboring villages of Achanoor are Marur, Sathanoor, and Vaidhyanathanpettai. Achanoor is a beautiful greenish village. Nearly 75% of people is Roman Catholic. Saint.Anthony Church plays a major role around Achanoor. Agriculture of Achanoor is based on River Kaveri. Achanoor is 6 km from Thiruvaiyaru and 18 km from Thanjavur. Every Year May month, Achanoor people celebrate Saint Anthony festival.
