31 (City of London) Signal Regiment

31st (City of London) Signal Regiment (V) was a Territorial Army regiment in the Royal Corps of Signals in the British Army. The Regiment previously formed part of 2nd (National Communications) Signal Brigade, providing military communications for national operations.

The regiment comprised:[1]

  • 5 (Queen's Own Oxfordshire Hussars) Signal squadron (Banbury)
  • 41 Signal Squadron (Kingston-upon-Thames)
  • 56 Signal Squadron (Eastbourne)
  • 83 Signal Squadron (Southfields, London)

On disbandment of the regiment in 2010, 41 Signal Squadron was transferred to 38 (City of Sheffield) Signal Regiment.[2] In 2014 it merged with 47 (Middlesex Yeomanry) Signal Squadron to form 31 (Middlesex Yeomanry and Princess Louise’s Kensington) Signal Squadron, part of 71 (Yeomanry) Signal Regiment.[2]
